Do you work on analytics projects today or are you thinking about how to more effectively leverage analytics? Are you interested in learning more about how others have overcome data and analytics challenges similar to those that you are facing? Would you like to learn of the resources others in NYS Government have used to facilitate analytics projects?

If you answered yes to these questions, we invite you to join us at the NYS Forum's Data and Analytics Community of Interest (COI) Roundtable Event. At this event, you will have the opportunity to hear about lessons in data and analytics learned from other state agencies, engage in dialogues about these lessons, and grow your network of data and analytics professionals across NYS government.

The session will begin with a brief presentation from Dan Jervis and Tammy Reding from the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance. Dan and Tammy will take us through a recent project that they launched, discuss some of the unexpected conditions that they faced, and describe how state resources helped them overcome challenges.

Set in roundtable style, the COI will facilitate an interactive conversation where we will discuss:

  • The challenges we face - common challenges faced in data and analytics projects.
  • Effectively adapting projects in response to constraints.
  • Resources that participants in this session have used to help overcome project challenges.
