NEW NYC Workgroup Meeting Kick-Offs

November 6, 2015
2 Metro Tech Center, 4th Floor
Brooklyn, NY
Webinar will NOT be available for this event

Please join us to kick off and shape these NEW New York City Workgroups!

Responding to our commitment to drive your priorities, the following workgroups are being formed.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a computer-based tool that analyzes, stores, manipulates and visualizes geographic information on a map. What are they? How are they being used? How do application developers factor GIS into the applications? Can tools be leveraged and shared?

Business Intelligence

Business Intelligence (BI) is the use of computing technologies for the identification, discovery and analysis of business data. BI technologies provide current, historical and predictive views of internally structured data for products and departments by establishing more effective decision-making and strategic operational insights through functions like online analytical processing (OLAP), reporting, predictive analytics, data/text mining, benchmarking and Business Performance Management (BPM). Who is doing what?

Open Data

Open Data is data that can be freely used, re-used and redistributed by anyone - subject only, at most, to the requirement to attribute and share-alike. What uses are the City currently involved in? How are other jurisdictions using it?

The NYS Forum NYC Workgroups are all developed in response to what NYC government leadership and staff are interested in.

Priorities are driven by YOU!

We encourage you to attend these kick-off workgroup meetings to learn about how you can contribute to the development of upcoming NYC programs that meet the needs of you and your colleagues. This true public/private partnership can only be successful with participation by staff at all levels!
