The purpose of this training program is to introduce NYS staff, acting in a PM (Project Management) role without formal training, to the fundamentals of the project management discipline as outlined in the PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).

The training program will consist of seven 90-minute sessions, offered every third Tuesday of the month, from 8:30 to 10 AM, starting May 15.

Session 1, the Overview, will be a 90-minute lecture providing an overview of the role of the Project Manager and the Project Management discipline. The training program will continue with a series of monthly 90-minute Knowledge Area sessions. Sessions 2-7 will cover one or two Knowledge Areas in the PMBOK. Each session will have a lecture component and a workshop component where you will be able to discuss your specific project challenges.

Please note - attendance at Session 1 is required for you to receive registration for subsequent sessions. To be fair to all, a NYS Forum registration confirmation will be required for admittance to the training sessions. When class capacity is reached, a wait list option will be offered.
