Fundamentals of Project Management for the Acting PM
Session 3: Stakeholder & Communication Management

Stakeholder Management
Project stakeholders are individuals, groups or organizations that are affected in some way in a given project. Identifying, understanding and prioritizing their interests is a key activity in Project Management.

Communication Management
Communication management is the process required to ensure prompt and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval, and ultimate disposition of project information. Project managers spend most of their time communicating with team members and other project stakeholders' internal (at all organizational levels) or external to the organization.

The training program will consist of a series of 7 sessions. Session 1, the Overview, was a 90-minute lecture providing an overview of the role of the Project Manager and the Project Management discipline. The training program continues with a series of monthly 90-minute Knowledge Area sessions. Sessions 2-7 are based on the PMBOK Knowledge Areas. The Knowledge Area sessions will have a Lecture component and a Lab component. The Lecture will introduce and describe the Knowledge Area. The Lab component will be based on attendees contributing questions, issues and real-life examples related to the Knowledge Area. The trainer will provide group involvement guidance and resolution suggestions.
