The "Success with Data Analysis" series will demonstrate how a state agency is effectively using data to inform operational decisions. The content will be beneficial to agency program and business staff as well as technical staff interested in developing successful data-based programs.

The July 18 session will overview the analysis, implementation, development, and benefits of Two-dimensional (2D) Barcode technology at the Processing Division of the NYS Department of Tax and Finance. A 2D barcode is a graphical image that stores information both horizontally, as one-dimensional barcodes do, and vertically.

You will hear about the project life cycle for the 2D implementation, starting with the cost/benefit analysis and including a discussion of the development effort, forms redesign, software vendor communications, and the testing effort. The presentation will end with a discussion of the actual successful results.

This session will be of special interest to Agency Program Development managers, Operational managers and their project support teams who are interested in implementing 2D Barcode technology.
